Why Appalachia?
Why Christian Appalachian Project?
Appalachia has been a region of intense and growing poverty for far too long. Isolation, lack of educational opportunities, ever-diminishing job prospects, and the destructive effects of daily hunger hold hardworking families down.
Since 1964 Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) has been guided by faith and motivated towards ending the struggles of poverty through our mission of building hope, transforming lives, and sharing Christ's love through service in Appalachia.
Our life-changing programs restore hope for thousands of children, families, and seniors in our region. CAP focuses on nine human services priorities: food insecurity, clothing, home repair, emergency assistance, early childhood education, counseling, youth development, elderly services, and disaster relief.
We invite you to help make a difference for so many in Appalachia.
