KECC Helps in Times of Trouble

About 7 years ago my dad my dad had a massive stroke. He was paralyzed on one side and couldn't talk. The doctors said he would probably only live about 6 months. They said we could send him to a nursing home or take him home and let Hospice help us. We chose to take him home. Hospice was wonderful. They visited everyday and supplied everything we needed to keep my dad comfortable. He lived almost two years after that. All of the nurses, aids, and counselors were wonderful. I am very thankful for Hospice. I have volunteered as a KECC coordinator in my cabinet because I believe in these programs and I know from experience how beneficial they can be to loved ones in a time of need...

My fellow Kentuckian:

What a great year this has been so far for the Kentucky's Employee Charitable Campaign!
I don't know about you, but this has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional career!

From what I've seen, we are on track for a great year. I have been to literally dozens of KECC events where I have been privileged to work with the greatest government employees, not just in the state, but in the entire nation! I expect to attend many more events and look forward to meeting everyone involved. You have truly made my job as 2007 KECC chairman enjoyable and satisfying.

I also want you to know that your leadership and management staff are behind you one hundred percent in your efforts for the KECC. I've already met with them once and I intend to meet with them again soon, and I can tell you they have nothing but good things to say about this year's campaign.

At this point all I can say is continue doing what you're doing. Keep up the hard work and please, please continue spreading the word. I challenge you to talk with all of your fellow workers and ensure they know what the KECC is really about. You and I both know how rewarding this campaign has been, so why not let them share in the fun?

Thanks again for your support and I look forward to seeing you soon!
