This year it is my distinct honor to serve as
KECC Chairman. My enthusiasm for this effort knows no bounds. I intend
to join with state government leadership - and you - to help inspire
everyone involved with this great cause.
We chose this year's slogan, "United We
Stand - Hand in Hand," from the slogan for our great state of
Kentucky. As employees of our Commonwealth, we are in a unique
position not only to make a direct and positive impact in helping our
local communities, but to set a dynamic example for our fellow
citizens!
 You
may ask yourself, why should I participate? Take it from me - the need
has never been greater. As prices for consumer goods rise, so do the
needs of our most challenged community members. I can cite example
after example of where one person's action did make a difference, when
and where it counted! There is no greater cause than to reach out and
help another. That is what the Kentucky Employees Charitable Campaign
is all about!
I invite you to help make this our best year
ever. Let's start by ensuring all of our co-workers are informed of
this wonderful opportunity and by encouraging everyone to participate.
This is our chance to make a difference. Let's all take advantage of
it!
