KECC Helps in Times of Trouble

My daughter's apartment in Louisville was flooded last fall. They lost almost everything they owned. This is after a fire in a previous apartment in June 2006. Both times the Red Cross was there to assist. They were given vouchers for clothing, bedding, food -- even dog food. They were given vouchers for replacing medications, food, etc. I was so impressed by the wonderful help they were given I added the Red Cross to the charities I give to through KECC. Hopefully my family will not need this help ever again! But I wanted to make sure it is there for others in need. --Kathy Valentine, Education

Remember...
The best way to inform employees about the KECC is by scheduling a group meeting. Charity representatives are happy to assist at these meetings by sharing information about the six partner charities that the campaign benefits. Group meetings give your employees direct access to ask questions about the campaign and get immediate answers.

KECC Kick-Off Carnival -- Fun, fun, fun!

 

Kick-off raises funds and fun!!!

General Storm led the charge with these words..."Putting the interest of others ahead of yourself, that’s what it’s all about. KECC is an outstanding opportunity for State Employees – who work every day on behalf of others in their jobs – to demonstrate once again how much they care about their friends and neighbors here in the Commonwealth... This is one time where your money will go a long way, from feeding children to providing therapy for those in need. And the great thing about the KECC is that YOU decide where your money goes! Six special charities that serve hundreds of agencies and thousands of Kentuckians across this great Commonwealth."

4Congratulations to the Commerce Cabinet for winning the Kick-off trophy this year for most tickets sold at their Snow Cone Machine, Kerplunk, Football Toss, Frog in the Bucket booth!!!

Thank you General Storm, the Special Events Committee and volunteers, and a very special thank you to all the state employees who made the carnival a success.   We raised $1768!!!
