Preventing the abuse and neglect of Kentucky's children.
A neighbor called the helpline one day reporting that her neighbor’s 4-year old was looking out the window for several days and that there was no sign of the child’s mother, which was unusual. She explained that she had knocked on the door and called the house, yet there was no answer. The caller was instructed to call the State Police who went to the house and determined that the child had been left alone for several days. The child was placed safely with his grandparents.
